Terms of Service
Last updated 4 June 2026.
By using Le Mien (the “Service”) you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.
Free public beta. Le Mien is currently in a free public beta — there are no charges, and the billing terms below apply only once paid plans launch (we’ll give clear notice first).
The Service
Le Mien composes a personalised newspaper from the preferences you provide and delivers it by email or online. Editions are AI-composed from real headlines sourced from reputable outlets. We aim for accuracy and clarity, but AI can make mistakes, so please verify anything important before relying on it. Le Mien is a personalised way to read the news — not a substitute for primary journalism or professional advice.
Plans & billing
When paid plans launch, you can choose: Free (€0, a fresh daily edition on the web & app plus a weekly email), Daily (€2.99/month or €29/year — your full paper pushed to your inbox each morning) or Pro (€6.99/month or €69/year — adds Deep Dive, the Markets dashboard and more). Paid plans include a 7-day free trial; unless you cancel before it ends, the plan price is then charged to your payment method until you cancel. Prices include applicable VAT; founding beta members keep their locked early price. You can cancel anytime from your account; cancellation stops future charges at the end of the current period.
Right of withdrawal
As a consumer in the EU you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a purchase. Because Le Mien is digital content we begin delivering immediately, when you start a paid subscription you expressly ask us to begin at once and acknowledge that you lose this 14-day right once delivery has begun. You can still cancel future renewals at any time.
Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service, resell editions, or attempt to disrupt or reverse-engineer it. Your account is for your personal use.
Your content
Your answers remain yours. You grant us the limited right to process them solely to generate and deliver your editions.
Liability
The Service is provided “as is.” To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount you paid in the preceding twelve months. Le Mien is a personalised way to read the news and is not a substitute for primary journalism or professional advice.
Accuracy, corrections & takedowns
Editions are composed by AI from real headlines and are labelled as AI-written. Despite strong source-grounding, they can contain errors. If a story is inaccurate, or if anything published about you or your organisation concerns you, tell us at hello@lemien.me — we aim to correct or remove it promptly. (The 👎 control on a story tunes what your future editions cover — it is not a correction or takedown request; for those, email us as above.) Le Mien is a personalised way to read the news, not a substitute for primary journalism.
Giving to causes
We intend to allocate part of our future profits to charities our readers select. The exact share and timing will be decided and published before paid plans launch; during the free beta there are no profits and no donations are owed.
Governing law
These terms are governed by Belgian law, and any dispute falls under the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Belgium, without prejudice to mandatory consumer-protection rights in your country of residence.
Changes
We may update these terms; material changes will be notified by email. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
